Learn how to use the Makerspace sewing machines! During this program, participants will learn how to thread a machine, wind a bobbin, and replace the needle. Participants will have the opportunity to try out various stitches on our sewing machines and learn how they can access the Makerspace sewing machines outside of the program. Needle felting is the process of transforming wool into 3D objects using a barbed needle. Join Technology and Makerspace Librarian Sarah Quinn to learn how to create a needle felted project.

Join Technology and Makerspace Librarian Sarah Quinn to create 3D designs using the Makerspace's 3D Pens. A 3D pen extrudes heated plastic from the pen's nozzle that cools almost instantly into a solid, stable structure, allowing for the free-hand creation of three-dimensional objects. 

There will be a variety of templates to use, or you can design your own project. All materials will be provided.

During this class, you will learn the capabilities of the Cricut machine, navigate through the Design Space software, and complete a simple cut paper shape on the Cricut!

Join Technology and Makerspace Librarian Sarah Quinn and learn the basics of Tinkercad. Tinkercad is a free, online 3D modeling program that uses the constructive solid geometry method of building 3D models. Sarah will teach you the basics of Tinkercad as she guides you through a project. 

We will use Tinkercad on the public PCs, so all participants must have a basic understanding of how to use a computer. Due to the time it takes to 3D print, participants will return to the library at a later date to pick up their 3D-printed models.

Sign up for a 1-1 session to learn how to use the Makerspace's Baby Lock Aventura II Embroidery Machine. During this 45-minute session, you will learn the ins and outs of the embroidery machine and complete a small embroidery project to take home with you.
