Meditation and Mindfulness are often prescribed by doctors and mental health professionals as a tool to reduce stress, lower blood pressure, and ease tension, among other benefits. But where do we go to learn how to meditate? Most people look to books or the Internet, both of which are great resources. However, inevitably questions come up, and we start to wonder, "Am I doing this right?".
Join experienced meditation and yoga educator, Kate Olson of Lakeview Yoga for this introductory class. Meditators will learn various meditation techniques, discuss their experiences with other others, and have the opportunity to ask questions. Meditation is a lifelong practice for everyone, and this class is open to 20 tweens & teens (grades 4-12). This class is in three sessions. Registering for the first session automatically registers you for all three.
Please bring a pen and a journal with you for these sessions. Kate Olson is a yoga and meditation teacher who empowers her students to create balanced lives through mindful yoga, breath-centered movement, and meditation. Kate is a certified Mindful Schools instructor and has taught meditation classes to children in the Peters Township, Upper St. Clair, and Bethel Park school districts. Her classes are creative, fun, and accessible to everyone. Kate is the owner of Lakeview Yoga in Peters Township where she teaches yoga and meditation classes to adults and teens.
