Join us once a month for a Matinee Movie showing. Enjoy a feature film and popcorn. Registration is required to reserve your seat and ensure we have enough popcorn. 

Yellowface: Asian Whitewashing and Racism in Hollywood, 2019, NR, 54 minutes

Until today, whitewashing was a racist tradition in Hollywood. As was "blackface," the "yellowface" was used in Hollywood as a propaganda tool and manifestation of racism.  YELLOWFACE takes us on a journey of Asian representation on screen from Cecil B. Demille's 1915 film The Cheat to the defining moment and celebration of the critical and box office hit of 2018, Crazy Rich Asians. YELLOWFACE is a historical look at how Asian culture has evolved through on screen representation in Hollywood.
