This monthly meeting is organized and presented by the Western Pennsylvania Lensshooters Association.
There is no registration required to attend.
January's meeting features 3 short presentations by club members.
Tony Tye returns to talk about where to find insects and how to photograph them. This will include what camera and lens to use, and shutter speed and aperture, along with focus methods. Tony has been photographing insects for about 15 years. Both flying and crawling insects will be covered.
Dawn Hammer talks about a recent trip to the Chihuly Garden and Glass Museum in Seattle, Washington. This presentation will combine several of her personal interests - gardening, glass sculpture, and photography. The presentation will show what you can do with iPhone photography.
Tiffany Trunk is an avid world traveler, but explores local areas in her free time. In undergrad, Tiffany was trained as a developmental anthropologist, documenting society through photographic adventures and ethnographic methods. Currently, she is converting her portfolio from mostly architectural to portrait photography and wedding shoots. Her interest in photography stems from society - especially gearing towards historical and even the abandoned.
Genuinely documenting moments in time and telling a good story, join Tiffany in her stories from jail, prisons, and asylums around the United States. While most people try to avoid jail, this presentation enthusiastically delves into these compounds. Explore abandoned photography that pays tribute to the preservation of architectural styles and artifacts that are otherwise lost in growth and time. Here, we will discover beauty in decay.
