Join Technology and Makerspace Librarian Sarah Quinn for a hands-on introduction to Tinkercad, a free and user-friendly online 3D modeling tool. Tinkercad uses constructive solid geometry to help you build 3D models from simple shapes—perfect for beginners and creative thinkers alike! Sarah will walk you through the basics, demonstrate helpful tools and techniques, and guide you step-by-step as you create your own project.

We will use Tinkercad on the public PCs, so all participants must have a basic understanding of how to use a computer. Due to the time it takes to 3D print, participants will return to the library at a later date to pick up their 3D-printed models.

Participants will have the opportunity to try out various stitches on our sewing machines and learn how they can access the Makerspace sewing machines outside of the program. During this class, you will learn the capabilities of the Cricut machine, navigate through the Design Space software, and complete a simple cut paper shape on the Cricut!

Join Technology and Makerspace Librarian Sarah Quinn to create 3D designs using the Makerspace's 3D Pens. A 3D pen extrudes heated plastic from the pen's nozzle that cools almost instantly into a solid, stable structure, allowing for the free-hand creation of three-dimensional objects. 

There will be a variety of templates to use, or you can design your own project. All materials will be provided.

Needle felting is the process of transforming wool into 3D objects using a barbed needle. Join Technology and Makerspace Librarian Sarah Quinn to learn how to create a needle felted project.
