Star Party

Come and enjoy a night of viewing the stars, planets, galaxies, and nebula. Our night will begin with a presentation from our own local Amateur Astronomers Association of Pittsburgh. Listen to what can be seen in our own galaxy, the “Milky Way,” plus galaxies that are millions of miles away, and learn about constellations that can be seen from Pittsburgh. 

After the presentation, all guests will be invited to go outside and look through the telescopes of volunteers. Explanations of what is being viewed will be given, along with answering your questions. Did you get a telescope for the holidays and don't know how to set it up? Our volunteers will be happy to answer equipment and set up questions. 

Please register all individuals who will be attending the event.

This is an after-hours event that takes place in and outside the library. Participants aged 15 and under should be accompanied by an adult.
