Bonner has written many books centered on local history and figures. His works include Purple Dawn, Beauty and Wickedness, Hazlewood: A Community Story, and The Final Resting Place, Calvary Cemetery. He is a retired aircraft mechanic, a karate instructor holding a Black Belt - 6th degree, and a resident of North Strabane Township.
