Medicare continues to provide essential benefits as the health insurance program for people 65 and older, people under 65 with specific disabilities, and people of any age with end-stage renal disease, permanent kidney failure requiring dialysis, or a kidney transplant. Pennsylvania Medicare Education and Decision Insight - or PA MEDI - is a free health insurance counseling program to help older Pennsylvanians with Medicare. 

This presentation, led by Lois Thomas, reviews Medicare, PA MEDI, and other assistance programs with handouts and ‘New to Medicare’ packets available for those in attendance. If you think you may qualify for an assistance program or need help discussing the costs of Medicare, you can schedule an appointment with Thomas after her presentation.

Lois Thomas is a Local Coordinator for the Pennsylvania Department of Aging's PA MEDI.  She serves Fayette, Washington, and Greene counties in Western PA and works for the Southwestern PA Area Agency on Aging, Inc.
