This program--Harmony in the Wild: Peaceful Coexistence with Wildlife--is designed for adults, gardeners, and nature lovers.

Would you like to make the most of your backyard or garden while embracing the benefits of local wildlife?

Learn about commonly encountered animals, what attracts them to our neighborhoods, and how we can enjoy sharing green spaces in meaningful ways. In better understanding animals, including deer, raccoons, and coyotes, we can fully appreciate the invaluable (but sometimes misunderstood) roles they play in PA.

This informational event features natural history items and ethically sourced taxidermy for an up-close look at native species. Recommendations for eco-safe lawn sprays and humane wildlife deterrents will be available!

Char Ross is a Pennsylvania Master Naturalist and environmental educator at Frick Park. With a lifelong interest in Mammal studies and a passion for connecting audiences to local wildlife, she utilizes unexpected tools: sustainably sourced taxidermy and nature-found biofacts (bones, fur, tracks, and other tangible evidence of animal existence). Char's programs feature a unique collection of species "ambassadors" to meet up close, like an engaging behind the scenes museum visit! Each class theme is curated with the goal of sparking both curiosity and greater appreciation for our wild neighbors.
