FAIR DISTRICTS PA, REDISTRICTING, AND THE CAMPAIGN TO “FIX HARRISBURG”: A short educational workshop open to the public
Join us for an introduction to Fair Districts PA, a nonpartisan citizens' movement helping to re-establish an accountable, transparent, responsive state legislature in Harrisburg. You’ll learn how decades of partisan control of the legislative agenda and manipulation of voting district maps (a practice called gerrymandering) have combined to give the people of Pennsylvania less voice and less choice. Pennsylvanians deserve better. Our Fair Districts PA speaker will cover what needs to change in Harrisburg, why, and how ordinary citizens can get involved.

Fair Districts PA is a nonpartisan, statewide, all-volunteer, good government group whose priorities include fixing state legislative rules, creating fair districts, and mapping out a fair redistricting process. Our speaker, Karen Calhoun, coordinates Fair Districts PA’s local groups in Westmoreland, Somerset, and Fayette Counties. She is also a member of the Fair Districts PA Speaker’s Bureau. Karen is a retired librarian whose career focused on academic libraries and library cooperatives in the U.S. and abroad.
