Event Details

The opioid epidemic and other substances have affected communities all across Pennsylvania and around the country.

In this presentation, we'll talk about the real experiences of those who have been affected by substance use disorder and provide opportunities for you to understand the realities of this disease. Dr. Sterner will share the latest substance trends that you should be aware of and what you can do to be mindful for your family and community. Come prepared for an engaging discussion, and feel free to prepare any questions that you may have regarding opioids, substance use, and addiction.

 Dr. Glenn Sterner, is an expert on the opioid epidemic. An Associate Professor of Criminal Justice at The Pennsylvania State University, Abington Campus, Dr. Sterner sits on the Opioid Overdose Task Force for the State of Pennsylvania. He is also a founding member of the Penn State Consortium to Combat Substance Abuse advisory board. Dr. Sterner works extensively with law enforcement agencies on the local, state, and federal level to address the opioid crisis.
