Program Description

Event Details

Join the library and the EQB for a screening of Clear Day Thunder: Rescuing the American Chestnut.

This documentary from the American Chestnut Foundation--a grassroots effort of passionate citizen-scientists and researchers working to restore this ecologically and economically significant tree species--features interviews with scientists, volunteers and luminaries. Best-selling author Barbara Kingsolver, Rolling Stones keyboardist Chuck Leavell, country music legend Dolly Parton and former President Jimmy Carter are just a few of the well-known figures committed to this historic conservation effort.

After the hour-long documentary, the Peters Township Environmental Quality Board will share information about the Chestnut Orchard in Rolling Hills Park and their efforts to help protect and restore the American Chestnut.
