During Breaking Ancient Silence: Women Re-Telling Women, Dr. Lauryn Mayer and Dr. Kay McEvoy, Professors of English at Washington & Jefferson College, will take the audience on a journey through how and why women authors revisit Greek mythology, with an emphasis on Madeline Miller’s Circe. The presenters will examine how contemporary authors use female characters from ancient myth to both illuminate the past and critique the present.
